CISA-Funded Venture Permits College students With Disabilities to Study Cybersecurity

Cybersecurity workforce growth group CYBER.ORG on Monday introduced the launch of Venture Entry, a nationwide effort to offer cybersecurity training to blind and visually impaired college students.

Courtesy of the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Safety Company’s Cybersecurity Schooling and Coaching Help Program (CETAP) grant, this system will embody a sequence of summer season camps meant to introduce college students aged 13 to 21 to key cybersecurity subjects and assist them develop expertise that may enable them to pursue potential careers within the business.

This system was piloted in 2017 in collaboration with Virginia’s Division for the Blind and Imaginative and prescient Impaired (DBVI), to create a cybersecurity curriculum for the blind and imaginative and prescient impaired. College students may also meet cybersecurity professionals.

In Linux camps, college students will find out about community and server operations, methods to arrange servers, and methods to confirm if web sites are 508 compliant. In robotics camps, college students will study primary coding expertise, circuit building, bot meeting, and finest practices for cyber security purposes.
